Begotten is a powerful new one-woman play, written and performed by Bianca Butler Reynolds and directed by Kat Dekker. Initially slated to be performed at BackDock Arts, Begotten has been adapted for current times, and you can now stream it directly into your home as a radio play!
Radio drama was a hugely successful entertainment mode in years gone by, and Minola Theatre think pandemic-induced isolation is the perfect opportunity to bring it back. Stories have always been there for us in dark times, and Minola Theatre are proud to contribute to that wonderful tradition now.
Begotten follows five generations of women from the same family over a 100-year period, as they grapple with questions of motherhood, sanity, grief, loss and revenge, against changing social and geographic backgrounds. Running through their stories is a thread of feminine soul, a desire for love and belonging, and a search for home. More information about the play is available here.
