Appropriate for audiences aged 16+
A new musical, written and composed by Lindsay McGregor, tells the story of Queen Victoria’s second son, Prince Alfred. While undertaking the first Royal tour of the Empire in 1867, Alfred falls in love with a Melbourne sex worker and is subjected to an attempted assassination by an Irishman who was training to become a Catholic priest. The story deals with themes of freedom, lust, female oppression, patriotic revenge, class distinction, political cunning, naked ambition, religious corruption, and racial discrimination.
This showcase performance will star Luke Belle and Amanda Hutton in the titular roles, with a supporting cast of actors from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and New South Wales: Lindsay McGregor, Sandra Harman, Danny Donaldson, Geof Webb, Jake Elston, Bailey Sprecak, and Luke Pagel.
