Savoyards kicks off their 60th anniversary season with a production of the 1992 Australian tap musical, Hot Shoe Shuffle. This is the first time that Savoyards will produce this musical, with direction by Jo Toia, musical direction by Nicky Griffith, and chorography by Desney Toia and Rob Emblen.
A jukebox musical, Hot Shoe Shuffle includes many American big band and popular songs of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. The musical tells the story of the seven Tap Brothers, who learn that their long-absent father has left them a large inheritance. However, to receive this inheritance, they must rehearse and perform his legendary stage act, The Hot Shoe Shuffle, and include their long-lost sister, April, in the act.
