The Baedeker Speakeasy: A 20s New Year’s Eve Party

Baedeker Wine Bar, 111 Constance St, Fortitude Valley

8:30pm, 31 December, 2019

Swing into the roaring 20’s with Brisbane Immersive Ensemble this New Year’s Eve in a dazzling, lavish underworld speakeasy where the champagne flows and the jazz band swings.

For one night only, from the company which brought Cluedo! The Interactive Game to Baedeker earlier this year, the immersive event is sure to transport you to the era of excess with powerhouse performances, bump and grind burlesque, and colourful characters mixing with the crowd.

Dress in your finest 1920’s inspired attire and approach the small entry off Constance Street below the sign of the ‘Baedeker Bakery.’ A man in an apron answers the door and asks for the password. If correct, the baker reveals a secret staircase to the raucous party awaiting below. You are ushered into the hidden clubhouse where gin and sin flow freely, saucy showgirls and debonair vaudevillians sing and dance as tumultuous love triangles play out, desperate lovers seek a midnight kiss, and resolutions are made and broken in the same wild night.

The event includes:

  • An abundant spread of delicious food provided by Wine & Dine’m Catering
  • A 4-hour all-inclusive beverage package, including authentic 1920’s cocktails
  • Live jazz music all night long
  • Immersive musical performances from Brisbane’s best musical theatre performers
  • Burlesque acts
  • Immersive theatre scenes
  • A triple crown ballroom winner to show you how to Charleston the night away.

Please note that this an 18+ Event.
