On February 23, an unmissable game of Queensland Great vs Queensland Great will take place at Suncorp Stadium at the Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston Testimonial Match, and we have a DOUBLE PASS TO GIVEAWAY!
Players like Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston come along once in a lifetime, and when they do, it’s a reason to gather. Legends Smith and Thurston will be recognised for their incredible contribution to Rugby League in a special testimonial match to be played ahead of the 2018 season – Smith’s Storm will take on Thurston’s Cowboys at their beloved Suncorp Stadium next year, the start of Thurston’s final year in the NRL.
The on-field achievements of Smith and Thurston have them certain to be future Immortals of the game, with 657 club games, 59 Origins, 95 Tests, 10 All-Star appearances, 6 Dally M Medals, 5 Wally Lewis Medals, 4 NRL Grand Final wins and 3 World Cups between them. The match will provide fans with an opportunity to pay tribute to two living legends, and will also be a chance for both Smith and Thurston to thank the fans who have supported them throughout their careers.
Smith and Thurston have also announced three charities as official partners for the event, with a portion of ticket sales being donated to all three:
· The Cowboys Community Foundation supported ‘NRL Cowboys House’,
· Ovarian Cancer Australia
· Prostate Cancer Foundation.
