Brisbane’s biggest and best rainbow festival will return to The Wickham Hotel on Sunday 1st May for its 22nd instalment. Closing down an inner-city street outside The Wickham for its main stage, Big Gay Day has evolved into one of Brisbane’s biggest street parties, and the 2022 festival will include a fabulous line-up of popstars, drag queens, musicians, and DJs.
Headlines acts for 2022 are Courtney Act and pop icon Vanessa Amorosi, supported by a line up including Faker, DJ Glitter, Kinder, Jawbreakers.
This celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community also supports local charities, with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefiting Diverse Voices and 2Spirits.
“We are so proud of this fabulous celebration,” said Owen Bevan, Australian Venue Co Area Manager. “The Big Gay Event is not only a day for the LGBTQIA+ and wider community to come together and enjoy amazing acts onstage and in The Wickham Hotel, but we raise tens of thousands of dollars for charities that really make a difference.”
