Little Gay Day will take over The Wickham Hotel on Sunday October 3 from 4pm until late, headlined by Sahara Beck as well as showcasing local talent. Donations on entry will support Diverse Voices, a local LGBTQIA+ charity that operates QLife, a queer support hotline through which people can receive peer counselling for issues such as gender identity and sexuality.
After the success of its sister event Big Gay Day earlier this year – raising tens of thousands of dollars – and the past two years of Little Gay Day, The Wickham is thrilled to host this event in support of the LGBTQIA+ community and this amazing charity.
“We are excited to once again be able to celebrate Little Gay Day with our patrons and help raise money for this charity, which is very close to our heart,” said Megan Edwards, The Wickham Hotel Venue Manager. “We hope to grow Little Gay Day each year and it is fantastic that we have added this event to our schedule for the last three years, in addition to the Big Gay Day celebration. We cannot wait to see everyone, from loyal customers to new, at this fantastic event.”

The iconic Wickham Hotel has actively supported the LGBTQIA+ community since the 1970s and is proud to be the home of Big Gay Day, Brisbane’s largest LGBTQIA+ festival, raising funds for the community. This heritage-listed venue prides itself on honouring its rich history, whilst creating a modern and safe space for all patrons, regardless of gender identity, race or sexuality.
The hotel features a vibrant Garden Bar with picnic style dining tables, eclectic art and lush greenery, a cosy Corner Bar with lounge seating and a bespoke cocktail list, and the Studio on the second level of the hotel is available for exclusive hire for functions up to 300 people. The hotel hosts regular weekly and monthly events including the popular Thursday Quizmeisters trivia, drag performances, comedy and karaoke nights as well as live DJs and bands every Friday – Sunday night.
