As much as we are all trying to stay abreast of what is happening in the world at the moment, it’s eve more important to stay connected to the people and things we love, and that make us feel good.

Lots of local people and organisations have wonderful online initiatives going (many of them free). Here are a few you might like to check out!


Live Shared Brewing with The Monday Coffee

Take a coffee break with coffee connoisseurs Tyler and Alex from The Monday as they sharing different brewing methods live on their Instagram @the.monday.coffee at 10AM AEST daily.


Virtual book clubs and events at Avid Reader Bookshop

BYO wine, Avid have transplanted all their events into the online world – readings, book clubs, author talks, book launches, panel discussions, and even craft workshops on the Zoom platform.

If you’re looking to join a book club, now is a good time! Avid have a huge variety of book clubs, so you’re sure to find something that suits you. Find more information about the book clubs here.

Avid Reader are also offering free delivery in certain suburbs and free shipping to the rest of Australia on purchases over $50. You can also do a drive by pickup for both Avid and Where the Wild Things Are.


Couch Choir from Pub Choir

Pub Choir is based on the idea that everyone can sing, and has had people gathering and singing in huge crowds around the country for years. Couch Choir is taking the crowds out, but very much keeping the joy of singing going. Their aim is to have one Couch Choir a month and the April window is currently open so sing, sing, sing!
