Midnight Social is thrilled to present the outrageously camp cult classic Die, Mommie, Die!, a deliciously twisted homage to 1960s melodrama.

Written by Charles Busch, Die, Mommie, Die! follows fading Hollywood star Angela Arden: a glamorous, chanteuse trapped in a crumbling mansion with a toxic husband, suspicious children, and more secrets than she can contain. When her husband suddenly drops dead under mysterious circumstances, the stage is set for a wickedly funny spiral into paranoia, scandal, and murder.

Blending high camp with razor-sharp wit, the production leans into the absurdity and theatricality of classic screen melodramas, delivering a fast-paced night of comedy, intrigue, and unapologetic excess.

Director Wayne McPhee says: “Die, Mommie, Die! is a love letter to camp theatre, something the world needs right now. It’s bold, ridiculous, and completely self-aware. We’re embracing the heightened style, the glamour, and the chaos to create something that feels both nostalgic, with a contemporary twist and thrillingly alive.”

This production promises dazzling costumes, heightened performances, and a visual world dripping in vintage Hollywood decadence.

Perfect for fans of dark comedy, queer theatre, and cult cinema, Die, Mommie, Die! is equal parts murder mystery and glamorous meltdown. It’s a theatrical experience that invites audiences to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
