Rebellion and revolution take centre stage as QSO pairs Shostakovich’s Symphony No.10 with William Kentridge’s acclaimed film Oh To Believe in Another World, a politically charged collage of puppetry, animation, and history that reimagines the Soviet era.
The concert also features internationally acclaimed pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk, commanding Prokofiev’s dazzling Piano Concerto No.3, a virtuosic work brimming with wit, mischief, and fiery brilliance, all under the baton of conductor Umberto Clerici.
A tour-de-force of sight and sound, Shostakovich Ten is a visceral concert experience that collides music, film, and history.
