Written & directed by Michael Beh, the second play in the Post Dramatic Troy Disorder trilogy pays homage to Aeschylus, Charles Mee’s Remaking Project + TS Eliot, John Dowland, Tchaikovsky, Brahms & Marianne Faithfull.
This age-old fable of revenge and redemption rebalances the tragic and cursed House of Atreus: Clytemnestra, Agamemnon, Iphigenia and Cassandra are reborn in the flames. In the end, will there be peace? Or do we continue to reinvent this self-perpetuating story? Will this Post Dramatic Troy Disorder ever cease?
After 20 years waiting, Clytemnestra, now more Dragon than Woman, can finally enact her burning vengeance. The ghost of her daughter, Iphigenia, spurs her on to action. She is now the Dragon Queen of Regret, The Dragon Queen of Reckoning, The Dragon Queen of Revenge, The Dragon Queen of Retaliation and The Dragon Queen of Redemption. This 70-minute elixir of passion and raging winter beauty responds to Aeschylus’ famous ancient tragedy Agamemnon, this time putting Clytemnestra (his wife) at the core of the action. It explores the ferocious heart of love, war, sacrifice and recrimination that is the centre of The Curators’ Post Dramatic Troy Disorder Cycle.
Performances also include a 20-minute prologue performance of The Last Veil by The Sublime Ensemble, The Curators’ group of older adult theatre makers.
