PIP Theatre, Milton

“There were three people in my marriage. Three people and twelve legs…”

Meet George: professor and octopus expert. Her most intimate relationship these days is with the clever Frances, an octopus she obsessively studies. Enter Harry: an anthropologist with big theories and even bigger ambitions. His latest idea? A groundbreaking new theory that could change George’s world forever…

Octopolis is a fascinating and funny new play by experimental UK playwright Marek Horn, opening at PIP Theatre this May. Directed by Bronwyn Nayler and performed by Caroline Sparrow and Dudley Powell, this intellectual rom-com is a smart, surprising and moving exploration of what makes us human.

Observatory Theatre are proud to present the Australian independent premiere of this sharp new play. Featuring two actors – and one octopus – Octopolis delves into our own intelligence, abilities, emotions and connections with the world around us.

Continuing their programming of daring, inventive and imaginative theatre, Octopolis is set to challenge and inspire audiences in Brisbane. Observatory Theatre embrace bold ideas, ensuring that they resonate with contemporary audiences in fresh and meaningful ways.
