CAKE

6 – 16 November 2024

Metro Arts, West Village, West End

Join Marie Antoinette’s Royal Court and witness her cascade through parties, PR disasters and debauchery on the road to her inevitable beheading.

Returning by popular request for a second serving, CAKE is a provocative comedy, inviting audiences to indulge in the unapologetic excess of a world gone mad through a wicked satire exploring the perils of cancel culture and the power of reputation.

When asked about what audiences can expect on stage, the IMRSE team painted a colourful picture:
“Audiences can expect a silly and energetic performance, which is cut through with a keen satirical edge. It is a cheeky manipulation of history that pulls you in, makes you laugh, and makes you think. You can expect dancing, laughter, lots of pink, splatters of frosting, and a rather suggestive cow costume.”

CAKE explores morality as social currency and the consequences of our self-righteous pursuit of the moral high ground.
