The Broadway Jam will present a special night of musical theatre and musical theatre “adjacent” songs at Milton’s PIP Theatre, showcasing 10 artists. With a performance format affectionately known as a “park & bark” (voice and piano), The Broadway Jam aims to cover every kind of musical, featuring the music of Sondheim, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Sara Bareilles, Jason Robert Brown, Pasek & Paul to Menken & Ashman… hosted by JDProCo Director, Josh Daveta and music directed by James Dobinson, it promises to be a banger of a Broadway night for theatre gurus.
For the past 3 years, JDProCo has produced an event for Meanjin’s musical theatre community called “Broadway in the Dock” hosted at Backdock Arts in Fortitude Valley. After 6 iterations of this project, the notion to expand and rebrand was inevitable as a loyal audience has been built since its beginnings. Founded by Josh Daveta, JDProCo is an arts company with an artist focus and has provided over 90 QLD working & emerging artists with a gig/show since April 2021. The company has worked with major talents starring in touring productions while also platforming local industry talent based in Meanjin/Brisbane.
