Scaredy House

19 – 29 June 2024

Metro Arts, West Village, West End

Something is going bump in the night – but this time it could be us?!

Set to send shivers down your spine and spark imaginations, Scaredy House is a fun, immersive theatrical experience that invites young audiences to unlock the mysteries of the Scaredy House and confront fears they never knew they had.

Just in time for the school holidays, this kid-friendly show is perfect for 8-12 year-olds and combines elements of Goosebumps and Minecraft with an existential twist.

“We’re building a ‘reverse haunted house’ that will pull apart what it means to be afraid. We’re interested in fears that don’t belong in ghost stories – those things we’re scared of deep down, like not fitting in, or not knowing who we’re meant to be. But then also what if the house itself felt those feelings?” said Counterpilot Director Nathan Sibthorpe about the idea behind this new work.

Audiences can expect to be challenged, engaged, and thoroughly entertained as they navigate this immersive theatrical adventure.

As part of the experience, Metro Arts is hosting a free post-show artist talk on Thursday, June 27th, 6:30pm, providing audiences with the opportunity to delve deeper into the creative process behind Scaredy House. There’s also a school holiday workshop for 8-12 year olds to learn shadow puppetry with Counterpilot and create your own mini ghost story.
