Hyung Suk Bae in Recital

Hyung Suk Bae, Acting Principal Cello of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, is a graduate of Julliard and has performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Sydney Opera House.
Take a journey and see the evolution of solo cello music evolution as Hyung pairs each movement of the famous Cello Suite No.1 by Bach with contemporary works. The program of this recital sees Bach’s cello suite played in its entirety and with each movement paired by Hyung with the following works:

- Peter Sculthorpe Threnody
- Ross Edwards Prelude & Laughing Rock
- Witold Lutosławski Sacher Variation
- Adrian Bell Gigue
- Mark Summer Julie-O
Hyung Suk Bae in Recital is the second concert in Southern Cross Soloists’ 2024 Sunset Soiree Recital Series, which encourages audiences to “soak up the atmosphere and expect the unexpected” in a re-imagined live chamber music experience.
