Casino Royale in Concert
15 March 2024
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Bank
Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) is serving up a musical martini, presenting Casino Royale in Concert and performing the live musical score perfectly synchronised with the iconic film on the big screen.
Casino Royale marked Daniel Craig’s first appearance as the legendary MI6 operative, earning him high marks with fans and critics alike. Directed by Martin Campbell, Casino Royale shows Bond at the start of his career, having just earned 00 status and his licence to kill, and pits him against the ruthless terrorist financier known as Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen).
From the jungles of Madagascar to the white sand beaches of the Bahamas, Bond’s pursuit of Le Chiffre leads to a showdown in a high-stakes poker game at the luxurious Casino Royale in Montenegro and ultimately to a jaw-dropping finale on the Grand Canal in Venice.
Feel every exhilarating moment as the orchestra, led by renowned Australian conductor Vanessa Scammell, enhances the cinematic experience in ways that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Queensland Symphony Orchestra encourages concertgoers to dress to impress – a dapper tux, femme fatale gown, or anything that speaks “secrets and spies” – before hitting the red carpet to pose by an Aston Martin DB12 in the foyer.
If you’re looking for a pre-show martini, Bacchus Restaurant will be shaking up Top Secret Martinis next to the venue – you can click here to book a spot at the bar for a list of special cocktails only accessible with a ticket, or a pre-show dinner in the restaurant.
