What’s On: A Night With The Villains (Our Yakka, Mira Ball Productions & Salad Bowl Collective)

A Night With The Villains

31 October – 1 November 2023

Ron Hurley Theatre, Seven Hills Hub

Musical theatre’s most infamous villains will take the stage for two nights only in a new Halloween concert, A Night With The Villains, a night of singing, dancing, and comedy.

Whether you’re a fan of Phantom of The Opera, Beetlejuice or Heathers: The Musical there’s something wicked for everyone, with a great score of music and hilarious parody comedy. A Night With The Villains will immerse audiences and invite them to the dark side, with some of Brisbane’s best up-and-coming stars in musical theatre breathing life into iconic villain songs from the world of musicals.

Award-winning Producer and Director, Elodie Boal, shared her excitement over this Halloween treat, and some spooky secrets that audiences won’t want to miss.

“Our cast and crew have put their hearts, souls and spirits into this production, and we guarantee an unforgettable experience. There are so many villains in musical theatre, and it’s quite apt to give them the spooky spotlight this Halloween,” said Elodie. “My favourite song in the show is our parody take on Chicago’s ‘Cell Block Tango’, cheekily named ‘Hell Block Tango’ and starring some pretty popular villains like the Wicked Witch of the West, Heather Chandler and Miss Hannigan.”

The production stars a line-up of local talent including Abi Cairns, Sam Caruana, Jordan Butler, Ruby Thompson, Kennedy Foley, Erin Hall, Matt Leigh, Georgia Leigh, Jennifer B Ashley, Mary Veitch and William Bradford. The show also features choreography by Jennifer B Ashley, musical direction by Lamees Kratochvil and costume design by Jackie Fredericksen.
