Checked Out is a new musical comedy presented by Inscape Assembly that invites you into the inner lives of several young employees through the trials and tribulations of both the modern retail landscape and the poor bastards who have to deal with it. From Alice, the new kid on the block, to Jet, who has seen it all before, from lovesick Harry to perpetually lost Lara, Checked Out is a comedic musical for anyone who’s worked in customer service and almost lost their mind in the process.
Inscape Assembly is a Meanjin-based independent theatre collective founded and managed by Madeleine Keeble, Haley Meekan, and David Wotherspoon. They aim to blur the lines between theatre, other art forms, and the everyday, and delve into what theatre can be, making it more accessible for both audience members and artists.
