Hosted in the Opera Queensland Studio as part of their popular Studio Series, soprano Alexandra Flood and classical pianist Alex Raineri will explore the influence of middle and far eastern melody on the western classical music tradition in their new show, Eastern Promises.
After their sold-out performance in 2019, young Australian duo Alexandra Flood and Alex Raineri return to the Opera Queensland Studio for an evening of sublime music. Featuring music by Debussy, Ravel, Szymanovski, Rachmaninoff, Glanville-Hicks and several others, Eastern Promises also seeks to uncover how different composers have approached the female voice and framed female identity – a rich and detailed celebration of the feminine and the virtuosity of the female voice.
